Offering this unique pair of gears (lower pair; foreground in photo) for Peerless 820-Series heavy-duty vertical-input transaxles to increase axle RPM with no increase in engine RPM. This Gearset allows the differential to be kept intact while changing the internal final-drive ratio from 8.02:1 to 5.61:1. This permits racers to run much closer to the 9:1 overall transaxle-ratio limit imposed by some class rules. As noted above, these higher-ratio gears are shown in the foreground of the photo. The small gear has 19 teeth and the large gear has 31 teeth. These gears replace the original 15-tooth 778253 shifter/brake-shaft gear (Peerless 820 IPL Reference 7) and 35-tooth 778247 intermediate output-shaft gear (IPL Reference 6B) shown in the photo background (upper pair). The 19-tooth gear and the 31-tooth gear are custom-manufactured gears Made-In-The-USA from same-thickness SAE1117 alloy and hardened to Rc 58-62, the same alloy and heat-treat specification used for other original Peerless 820 transaxle gears.
FIT NOTE: This Gearset will only fit the 820-Series Peerless transaxles -- those with Model Numbers of 820-xxx. It will not fit any 900s, 800/801s, or the MST 200-Series transaxles. I do not have any high-speed gearsets for any Peerless Gear transaxles except the 820. If you need a faster transaxle, I would suggest upgrading to an 820.

FEEDBACK: Our Feedback is 100%, which is good. The latest Feedback, however, is in December of 2011, which may raise questions.
